Day 2: morning

I'm feeling a little blurry today. I woke up at 2:45 am for no good reason and have been up since. This is a normal part of my insomnia-filled life, though, and one of the reasons I'd love to be a little healthier. OK... a lot healthier. This morning, I went with the handful of spinach leaves, berries, pineapple, handful of flaxseed, a splash of cranberry juice, and water.
Before it's juice
Now it's juice!

It's surprisingly good today-- I think it was the splash of cranberry juice. Now, I know that the purists are out there with their hands over their ears, but last week, breakfast was the cold Domino's pizza in the back of my fridge. Whether or not I threw in some processed juice product, it's still much healthier than my usual breakfast fare.

I'm also making a salad to take with me to work and throwing a couple of pieces of fruit in my bag. Hopefully I'm not starving by the end of the day because I'll have another healthy meal accompanied by a shake for dinner.

Cheers, everybody, and happy Monday!

Day One, end of the day:

I drank two shakes today, the second was much better. It contained about 5 baby spinach leaves, two small oranges, peeled and sectioned, a couple chunks of fresh pineapple, and a banana, then enough water to make it shake. Dinner was fresh spaghetti in homemade tomato sauce with chicken and a caprese salad. Yum. I spent a good part of the day in the bathroom, though, so I know which way detox flows really well. I still have to weigh myself and take a "before" picture. I just don't have the strength today.
That's me and all my chins on the right.

So today, I've figured out it's possible. I eat healthy food. I cut the white stuff-- you know, the sugar, the flour, the salt, and the crisco, and maybe some of the crisco will fall away from my mid-section and thighs. I've got to go drink more water. I'm imagining all of you, that's all five of you today, holding me accountable. It helps.

Day one Shake One

I recently ate my weight's worth of fatty holiday food and I am using gravity to button my size 16 pants. As you have probably figured out by that statement, this recent indulgence isn't my first clue that perhaps maybe, I just might have a weight problem. Starting today I am doing something about it. I got a nutribullet system for Christmas and I have a fridge full of healthy veggies and fruits to shove into it.  Here you are with me-- day one shake one.

Shake one; I stuffed half the cup full of baby spinach leaves, threw in a barely-ripe banana, and a handful of frozen berries. I added a touch of flaxseed, filled it up with water and pulverized it.

not for the faint of heart

It looks soo delicious, doesn't it?? It tastes like spinach and banana, with the occasional crunch of a flaxseed and very little berry. It seems I'm going to have to adjust the morning concoction. I'll get my nerve up through the day and try to post a "before" picture.

Morning one: I'm surviving and I'll update you as I go.
